East Midlands Combined County Authority has reported that fifteen projects exploring clean energy and advanced manufacturing technologies received grant funding through the region's Investment Zone during 2025.
The figure was included in the Combined Authority's year-end review published on 22 December 2025. It provides an indication of activity moving beyond the establishment of the programme and into support for individual innovation projects.
The East Midlands Investment Zone was formally announced in October 2024 and is backed by a ten-year government funding commitment of £160 million. Its sector focus is on advanced manufacturing and green industries, drawing on established industrial capabilities across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
The programme includes designated sites at Infinity Park Derby, Hartington Staveley and Explore Park in Worksop, alongside activity intended to support research, businesses and investment across the wider region.
The fifteen awards show that the programme has begun supporting individual projects. Their results, including whether the technologies are adopted by businesses, will become clearer as the funded work progresses.
