Flintshire and Wrexham councils have launched two grant schemes to support manufacturing businesses through the region's Investment Zone.
The schemes opened on 2 February 2026 and are intended to help small and medium-sized manufacturers invest in growth and development. They are among the first funding measures introduced under the Flintshire and Wrexham Investment Zone, which is supported by the UK and Welsh governments and coordinated through Ambition North Wales.
Eligible companies can apply for grants ranging from £5,000 to £100,000, subject to providing at least 30 per cent match funding. The two councils are administering schemes for businesses based in their respective areas.
The wider Investment Zone focuses on advanced manufacturing, drawing on existing industrial activity and supply chains in North East Wales. Alongside business support, it is expected to support workforce skills, infrastructure and innovation over the programme period.
Opening applications gives manufacturers a route to seek support through the Investment Zone. The decisions made on applications, and the projects subsequently undertaken, will provide a clearer picture of the programme's reach.
