The North Wales Corporate Joint Committee has approved two proposed allocations associated with the Flintshire and Wrexham Investment Zone, supporting early-stage infrastructure and manufacturing innovation activity.
The decision was recorded on 2 October 2026. It includes a proposed £500,000 revenue allocation to Wales and West Utilities for preliminary work on the HyLine Gogledd project, intended to help establish the conditions for future investment.
A further £250,000 capital allocation was approved for MAAS Spectrometry Limited to support research and development of a new mass spectrometry machine, with potential applications in manufacturing and exports.
Both decisions are subject to subsidy control assessment and the completion of the relevant grant funding arrangements. They form part of the region's wider Investment Zone programme, which aims to strengthen advanced manufacturing across Flintshire and Wrexham.
The allocations identify preparatory and innovation activities proposed for support. Future progress will depend on the projects securing their remaining approvals and moving into practical development or use.
