West Yorkshire launches £4.5 million Investment Zone support for health technology

West Yorkshire Combined Authority has launched a £4.5 million support programme for health technology businesses as part of the region's Investment Zone.

Announced on 8 April 2025, the initiative is intended to help businesses develop products, reach new markets and overcome barriers to growth. The Combined Authority expects up to 240 companies to benefit from support and specialist learning opportunities over four years.

The programme is an early delivery measure within West Yorkshire's £160 million Investment Zone, which focuses on health technology and the region's established research and clinical strengths.

Support is intended to help companies navigate regulatory requirements, strengthen commercial capabilities and build connections with hospitals, universities and other partners. The wider Investment Zone programme also seeks to encourage investment in facilities and innovation across the region.

The programme creates a defined route for health technology businesses to seek support. Uptake, subsequent product development and business activity will provide a more informative picture of its contribution than the initial allocation alone.

Helping places invest with confidence

Using the UK's Investment Zones as a starting point, Revalorise aims to improve visibility of programme activity, make learning easier to reuse and support better-informed decisions throughout delivery.
